The Candyman is a classic horror movie. It scared me when it first came out, and it scares me still today. No, I still will not say his name out loud three times.

The movie, which is based on a screenplay by Clive Barker, follows Virginia Madsen’s character, a grad student who has decided to use the urban legend of the Candyman for her thesis. Soon, she learns that someone pretending to be the urban legend is now stalking her.

I don’t usually like slasher movies, but this one isn’t that bad, and I love the combination of urban legend mixed in with gritty horror.

The people who live in the projects believe in the Candyman. They are afraid to say his name out loud and firmly believe that if they say his name out loud three times, he will appear. So, is the Candyman real? Well, you will have to watch the movie to find out.
