A list of all the new Netflix movies and shows to watch this weekend, including Dolemite is My Name starring Eddie Murphy; Daybreak, a post-apocalyptic teen drama, and more!

There’s a bunch of new Netflix movies and shows to watch this week! Leading into the week of Halloween, Netflix added several must-see original shows and movies, and that’s means you have a very busy weekend.

Check out our top picks from all the new Netflix movies and shows below!

Rhythm+Flow

All 10 episodes of Netflix’s first reality hip-hop competition are now on Netflix. The finale was added to Netflix, along with episode 8 and 9, on Wednesday, Oct. 23. Chance the Rapper, Cardi B and T.I. are the judges on the show, and they make the show worth watching by themselves.

If you’re also interested in watching some up-and-coming rappers, this is the show for you!

Daybreak

Daybreak is my favorite new Netflix original series. It premiered on Netflix on Thursday, Oct. 24, and there are 10 episodes in the first season.

The series follows a group of teens who survive a biological bomb in Glendale, California. It’s a post-apocalyptic teen comedy-drama, and it’s a must-watch for fans of teen shows. It has some great jokes and a really interesting story. I also really enjoy the way it plays on other post-apocalyptic tropes and winks at the audience throughout the first season.

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

If you’re a fan of David Chang’s Netflix series Ugly Delicious, this is the show for you! For this four-episode Netflix series, Chang is joined by a celebrity and they basically hang out for the day eating and telling stories. It’s an awesome new show for foodies! Seth Rogen, Kate McKinnon, Lena Waithe, and Chrissy Teigen are guests in this batch of episodes.

Living with Yourself

Living with Yourself stars Paul Rudd and Aisling Bea, and it premiered on Netflix on Friday, Oct. 18. It’s one of Netflix’s best comedies of the year.

In the show, Rudd’s character, Miles, has a procedure go wrong that results in two versions of himself. They try to survive the charade.

The Kominsky Method season 2

The Kominsky Method starring Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin is back for season 2! The new season premiered on Friday, Oct. 25. This show is Netflix’s most decorated comedy after winning big at the Golden Globes post-season 1.

If you like Douglas and Arkin, this is the show for you to watch on Netflix this weekend!

BoJack Horseman season 6, part 1

The first half of BoJack Horseman season 6 is now on Netflix. The new season was added to the streaming service this Friday.

Unfortunately, after you binge-watch these eight episodes of the series, you only have eight episodes of the series left. Season 6 will be the final season, which means part 2 will be the last episodes of the series. Part 2 is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on Jan. 31, 2020.

Dolemite Is My Name

Dolemite Is My Name is the movie of the week at Netflix, and it’s an Oscar contender. Eddie Murphy stars as Rudy Ray Moore, the comedian, musician, and actor who rose to fame with his alter ego Dolemite in the 1970s and 80s. Murphy is incredible in this movie, and that’s why many people will tune in for this movie. I’m guessing he’ll get nominated for an Oscar for his role in the film. That’s my prediction!

The story is fascinating, though, and this is easily one of the best Netflix original movies so far. Murphy stars along with Wesley Snipes, Keegan-Michael Key, Craig Robinson, Mike Epps, and more.

Prank Encounters

Prank Encounters also premiered on Netflix on Friday, Oct. 25. If you’re interested in some spooky and weird pranks around Halloween, this is the show for you!

Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo hosts the new Netflix original series and takes part in a few of the pranks.

Rattlesnake

Rattlesnake is final Netflix movie from the 2019 Netflix and Chills lineup for Halloween. The film stars Carmen Ejogo and Theo Rossi, who many Netflix fans will recognize as Shades from Marvel’s Luke Cage.

In the film, a woman saves a young girl after she is bitten by a rattlesnake. Now, the girl’s mother must kill someone else to pay the price of her daughter being saved.

It’s an interesting premise, so if you’re looking for a thriller to watch for Halloween, this one might be your go-to!
