The new Netflix original series Daybreak is coming to Netflix tonight! Will you be staying up late to watch the new series?

Daybreak is coming to Netflix very soon, but you’ll have to stay up late to watch the first season fo the new Netflix original series!

Daybreak hits the streaming service at 12:01 a.m. PT on Thursday, Oct. 24. Viewers who live on the East coast will have to stay up until 3 a.m. ET to start watching. It might be worth it!

Unfortunately for those who have to work, the show is getting a Thursday release, so you’ll have to binge-watch Thursday and Friday night after work to get through the first season.

Created by Brad Peyton and Aron Eli Coleite, the new series is based on the comic of the same, and it follows a group of teens who survived the apocalypse in Glendale, California. There are no adults around, from what it looks like, and the groups of kids have formed tribes to protect themselves against various threats. It’s like the high school TV take on the apocalypse tropes. How exciting!

More specifically, we follow Josh Wheeler, played by Colin Ford, in his quest to find his girlfriend Sam in the middle of the apocalypse. Wesley, played by Austin Crute, and Angelica, played by Alyvia Alyn Lind, appear to start their own tribe to survive.

Check out the trailer for the series below!

Overall, the show has a terrific cast. Ford, Crute and Lind are joined by Matthew Broderick, Sophie Simnett, Gregory Kasyan, Krysta Rodriguez, Jeanté Godlock, and Cody Kearsley, who you might recognize from Riverdale, in the series.

I love that Broderick is involved with his project. There’s definitely some Ferris Buehler vibes with Josh’s character. I’d prefer is Broderick was a Principal or teacher of some kind in all high school shows and movies. He’s perfect in this role.

If this show is as good as I think it will be, Daybreak will definitely be back for a new season. This is the type of content Netflix should be making more of, and I think they will.

Will you be staying up late to start binge-watching Daybreak on Netflix? Please spread the word and let other fans know about what’s sure to be one of Netflix’s best shows of the year!
