24. Sinister 2

Release Year: 2015

Directed By: Ciarán Foy

Cast: James Ransone, Shannyn Sossamon, Robert Daniel Sloan, Dartanian Sloan, Lea Coco, Tate Ellington, John Beasley, Lucas Jade Zumann

Sinister 2 was the follow-up to the 2012 box-office hit, Sinister. C. Robert Cargill and Scott Derrickson wrote both of the installments but Ciarán Foy took over as the director. James Ransone, who is now widely known for his role as adult Eddie Kaspbrak in It Chapter Two, returned to reprise his role from the first film.

The supernatural horror movie focuses on a mother, Courtney (Sossamon), and her young twin sons, Dylan and Zach, as they are on the run from Courtney’s abusive husband. They are staying at a farmhouse next to an old church and Dylan starts to have terrifying nightmares featuring families being killed. Every night, Dylan is visited by Milo and other ghosts who show him deadly “home movies.”

Meanwhile, the former deputy turned private investigator (Ransone) is researching murders that are connected to the evil entity from the first film. He burns down the sites of the murders to prevent any families to move into the houses. He then shows up at the farmhouse that is housing Courtney and her sons who are unaware of the terrible murders that took place there. The sequel will make its way to Netflix on Oct. 16.
