2. Bradley’s Big Buy is back

When fleeing from the Mind Flayer and needing some medical supplies to fix up Eleven’s leg, the gang break into Bradley’s Big Buy. This supermarket may be familiar as it previously appeared in a memorable moment back in season 1.

This is actually the same store that El herself stole some Eggos from two years ago. Remember how El smashed the glass doors with her powers when she left? The doors are ruined again in season 3, too, when Nancy breaks through them with a rock in order to get in.

Moral of the story: don’t vandalize, kids, unless you’re trying to save the world or are hungry for waffles.

3. “The pretzels aren’t even that good”

It’s clear that Mayor Kline isn’t a popular man from the off, as when we first meet him a crowd of protesters has gathered outside his office. They are angry that the newly-built Starcourt Mall is taking business away from the local downtown stores. Naturally, most of the signs are on-topic, saying things like “Recall the Mall” and personal attacks on the politician like “Mayor Swine.”

One guy seems to be holding his own individual protest, however, about the relative tastiness of the mall’s food. It’s easy to miss in the crowd, but one sign hilariously reads: “The pretzels aren’t even that good.”

Now that is the real worst crime going on in Hawkins, folks. What’s a mall without good pretzels?
