Millie Bobby Brown shared a picture of herself and David Harbour on Instagram, and Stranger Things fans think that might confirm Hopper’s fate in Stranger Things 4.

Stranger Things 3 spoilers below!

Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown, who plays the fan-favorite Eleven in the series, shared a picture of co-star David Harbour, who stars as Chief Jim Hopper, on Instagram. Accordingly, fans are thinking this might confirm Hopper is still alive, according to a report from NME.com.

In the Instagram post, Brown shared two images of herself and Harbour with the caption “daddy daughter date.”

Under normal circumstances, fans probably wouldn’t read too much into these pictures. After the events of Stranger Things 3, that’s a different story!

It’s been a little more than a month since Stranger Things 3 premiered. Given the uncertain fate of Hopper after the season finale, any information about Harbour and the rest of the Stranger Things team is in high demand. These pictures could be just pictures, but they could also be a hint about Hopper’s fate. You decide.

One of the more interesting theories about this picture, which you can see if you read the comments on the ‘gram, is about Harbour’s beard. Chief Hopper has a had a beard at different parts of the series. In Stranger Things 3, he was sporting a killer mustache.

Why is this important?

Well, many fans believe Hopper was taken captive by the Russians, somehow, at the end of the third season, and that he was/is “the American” who the Russian guards are referring to during the post-credits scene from season 3.

More from Stranger Things

There are many theories that Hopper escaped the platform just before Joyce turned the keys and caused the machine to malfunction and explode. He, then, must have been taken by the Russians as they fled the base. Remember, there were no Russians in the base when Dr. Owens and the American military forces arrived.

If Hopper is in the Russian prison with the demogorgon, he likely would have a large beard after not shaving for three months.

It’s an interesting theory. I think there’s a really good chance Hopper is the American in the Russian prison. At this point, I think it’s clear that he’s actually alive. The reason the rest of the Hawkins Heroes don’t know that yet is because Eleven doesn’t have enough strength in her powers at the moment to find him. That’ll probably change in Stranger Things 4, but that’s just my guess at this point.

We’ll probably find out Hopper’s true fate soon. The new season is scheduled to start production this fall, according to unconfirmed reports. If Hopper is still alive, Harbour has to be there, and it’s way too difficult in the social media age to keep his presence on set a secret for long.

Stay tuned for more news about Hopper’s fate in the new season. We’ll let you know more as we find out!
