The 25 best new Netflix movies coming in August 2019, including The House Bunny, Now and Then, Otherhood, Rocko’s Modern Life, and more!

Even though you might still be chipping your way through last month’s new release movies, another month of must-watch Netflix movies races into your watch list. However, unlike most months, August proves a quieter month for the streaming service, as the bridge between summer and fall offers a lower profile collection of titles to dig into. Still, there is lots to love.

If you’re looking to close on the summer with a perfect, quintessential summer flick, stream the beloved coming-of-age cult classic Now and Then, which ranks among the month’s biggest new releases. Other hits movies you’ll want to watch over and over again this August include Anna Faris’ The House Bunny, Rocky and four of its sequels, Sex and the City, and Four Weddings and a Funeral.

On the original film side of things, there aren’t many noteworthy Netflix movies joining the fold this month, though a few films are worth marking your calendar. Otherhood joins Patricia Arquette, Angela Bassett, and Felicity Huffman, while Sextuplets comes from Marlon Wayans. Also, binge-watchers of a certain age will enjoy Rocko’s Modern Life and Invader Zim, a pair of past Nickelodeon favorites, returning in the form of two new original movies.
