Netflix renews Big Mouth for three more seasons

Netflix has renewed Big Mouth for three more seasons after season 3. That will bring the series total to at least six seasons.

We have some great news to share with Big Mouth fans! Netflix just announced Big Mouth has been renewed for three more seasons! That means we’ll see seasons 4, 5 and 6 at Netflix.

Created by Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg, Big Mouth, a Netflix original series, premiered on Netflix in the fall of 2017, and it was a huge success almost immediately. Netflix quickly renewed the show for season 2, which premiered on Netflix in October 2018.

Again, fans and critics loved the new season, and Netflix renewed the show for season 3 and gave the show a Valentine’s Day special, which aired earlier this year. Now, there are even more episodes of the show on the way!

Netflix announced the news on social media, along with some other BIG news.

As you read in the tweet, Netflix made a first-look deal with Kroll, Goldberg, Mark Levin and Jennifer Hackett and their new production company, Brutus Pink. That means we’re going to see a lot more shows and movies like Big Mouth on the way in the future. That should be good news for fans!

This kind of renewal is pretty shocking from Netflix. There are a few shows that have standing renewals, like Stranger Things, but there are few Netflix shows that get the opportunity to be renewed for more multiple seasons at one time. It’s only happened a few times in Netflix history, including Orange is the New Black and Disenchantment.

Ultimately, this is a good decision from Netflix. There are only so many comedies that have the ability to last for multiple seasons, and Big Mouth is one of those shows. The show is growing in popularity, and the storylines in the show have so much more room to grow. With three seasons, the creators should be able to come up with a great arc for the future of the series and follow these characters through high school and even college. Or maybe they’ll stay in middle school for ever?

I’m excited to see what the Big Mouth team can come up with next. We’re expecting season 3 will be released on Netflix this fall. It’s also assumed that the next three seasons after season 3 will be released each fall through 2022, although that might change in the future.
