Hopper is still alive in Russia

The most important development in Stranger Things 3 had to be Hopper’s death. The whole season was building toward it. The character’s arc had to end this way, and there were so many breadcrumbs for fans to follow along the way that were pointing to this happening.

But, there’s tons of evidence that suggests Hopper did not die. Peter Gabriel’s “Heroes” played at the end while Eleven was reading the letter. It’s the same song that played in season 1 when Will’s fake body was found.

Hopper was referred to as “The American” throughout the whole season, and I’m guessing he’s “the American” in the Russian prison, as well. Additionally, there was no body left at the scene of the explosion. We didn’t see him die, and when the wide shot shows the machine exploding, it doesn’t look like Hopper is standing where he was before Joyce closed her eyes.

I could go on and on, but that’s the evidence that leads me to believe he is still alive.

This might not be that bold of a prediction after what has been reported, but it’s a good place to start. I think Hopper is definitely alive, and it’s only a matter of time until the rest of the Hawkins Heroes realize it, too.
