Netflix renews The Society for season 2

The Society quickly brought out some strong feelings for good and bad reasons. It took a while, but Netlfix has finally officially renewed it for season 2.

Our patience is finally being rewarded. The Society has officially been renewed for a second season by Netflix. The cast announced the renewal and more through a short video.

It sounds like the renewal came quietly a while ago. That won’t be that surprising, considering most renewal and cancellation decisions have been happening after a month of the seasons dropping on Netflix recently. The Society season 2 has already started filming.

From the video, it looks like the majority of the season 1 cast is returning. We’ll definitely see Kathryn Newton, Gideon Adlon, Sean Berdy, José Julián, Jack Mulhern, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, and Kristine Froseth return. Olivia DeJonge, Grace Victoria Cox, and Toby Wallace were also among the cast members in the video.

The returning stars mean that many of our questions should be answered. We’ll get a chance to find out more about Campbell’s next steps and whether he can be stopped. Hopefully, we’ll get to find out if Elle will be able to stand up to the others and help save Allie and Will. Then there’s the hope that we’ll finally get to find out more about what’s happened to the teenagers and how they got to this strange universe.

More importantly, it sounds like we’ll learn all about the secrets of Grizz’s hair. To be honest, that has been overlooked, but he has Supernatural’s Sam Winchester hair for sure. There are so many questions about how they look so amazing!

With the show currently starting production, we should see it available around spring 2020. The video from Netflix made it clear that it would be available next year but didn’t give us a season. It usually takes a year to film all episodes and have them ready to drop.

Chris Keyser will return for The Society season 2 as showrunner, according to Deadline. Marc Webb will continue to executive produce the series alongside Keyser.
