13 Reasons Why star Katherine Langford will star in the Netflix original series Cursed, a new show based on a book by Tom Wheeler and Frank Miller.

Katherine Langford has been cast in Netflix’s Cursed, according to a report from Entertainment Weekly. Netflix shared the first look at the former 13 Reasons Why star in the new series, which is based on the book of the same name from Tom Wheeler and illustrated by the legend Frank Miller.

We don’t know much about Cursed, but it sounds like this series is a new spin on the story of King Arthur. According to the EW report, Cursed is scheduled to be released on Netflix in 2020. The book written by Wheeler and Miller is coming out later this year.

Netflix shared the first look at the 13 Reasons Why star in Cursed on Twitter over the weekend, and we have shared that tweet below, via Netflix’s See What’s Next account:

The report did not mention much more information about the new series. We don’t know who will be joining Langford in the series yet, but that’s sure to be announced soon.

Here is the synopsis of the series, via EW:

"“Cursed is a re-imagining of the Arthurian legend, told through the eyes of Nimue, a teenage heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake. After her mother’s death, she finds an unexpected partner in Arthur, a young mercenary, in a quest to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword. Over the course of her journey, Nimue will become a symbol of courage and rebellion against the terrifying Red Paladins, and their complicit King Uther.”"

That’s very specific!

This series sounds incredible. Wheeler and Miller have incredible resumes as storytellers, and Cursed should be very good, as well. There’s definitely a void on TV right now for good fantasy shows with Game of Thrones ending, and this series definitely helps fill that void. I’m very confident that this series will be awesome!

Langford is an amazing actor, and it only makes sense that Netflix, the place where Langford got her first big break, would want to keep her in shows and movies from the streaming network. While Langford was included in some scenes from 13 Reasons Why season 2, she will not return for more scenes in the third season.

Netflix still has not revealed the release date for 13 Reasons Why season 3, but we do know the show is coming in the third or fourth quarter of 2019. We’ll let you know more about the series when we find out.

Remember, Cursed premieres on Netflix in 2020. We will share the release date and any more information about the new season when we find out more. I’m guessing it’ll be a while until we learn more about this sure-to-be hit Netflix original series.
