After the Battle of Winterfell, what comes next on Game Of Thrones? Well, the battle for the Iron Throne—and a show more grounded in reality.

Well, the Long Night is over. We survived the ordeal, and with only minimal casualties, at least in regard to our favorite GOT characters. Episode Three “The Long Night” was always meant to be the episode of Game of Thrones—the one they’d been hyping since buzz over the show started—the be-all-and-end-all. Now we’re past that, and the question, of course, becomes: what next?

The Night King is dead, killed by Arya Stark in one of the most well-deserved and yet shocking twists in the history of television. His army has disappeared. There’s nothing more than Cersei—waiting at King’s Landing.

If you ask me, this is the story George R.R. Martin always wanted to tell, or at least, an important part of it. The story of what happens after war, the story of what kind of a king Aragorn would have been, had Lord of the Rings continued to explore their stories.

Nevertheless, the HBO drama still has three super-sized episodes to go, and one can only guess how much more can be told? More than anything, fans want to know if Cersei will really be at the forefront of all the political maneuvering that’s coming?

Let’s remember the matter of which Targaryen should even sit on the Iron Throne is still to be determined—a dilemma which has to be settled—and it must be before we even get into the fact that Cersei really has no legitimate right to sit on the throne. Not that Robert Baratheon did, either. But this is the ballgame now, the political ballgame. The Seven Kingdoms have been saved, and a future is now possible. So, who will rule them all?
