The two shows are in no way related but an episode of Ancient Aliens may hold some clues towards explaining the disappearance of Flight 828 on NBC’s Manifest. Find out more below.

Even though NBC’s Manifest is on hiatus until the series is renewed for another season—hopefully—an answer to one of the show’s biggest mystery may have been uncovered. What’s peculiar is that the information originated in an episode of History Channel’s Ancient Aliens; currently streaming on Hulu.

For anyone unfamiliar with Ancient Aliens, the series follows experts and investigators around the world as they search for answers to some of our planet’s greatest mysteries. In one particular episode, the team of investigators learned that Black Holes may exist right here on Earth.

Contrary to popular belief, the ancient astronaut theorists posit that the phenomena don’t just appear in the recesses of space but on our own planet. One piece of evidence they used to back up their claims was the mystery behind the Bermuda Triangle.

The area is a body of water between Florida and the Bahamas that’s seen multiple aircraft and boats disappear while traveling through it. One traveler, however, managed to traverse the risky airspace and tell the tale: Bruce Gernon.

What Gernon purports is that he traveled from the Bahamas to Miami in less than three minutes—which is physically impossible in the plane that he was flying. His story is unverified but the man’s description of his flight sounds oddly similar to the events which transpired in the first episode of NBC’s Manifest.

On the NBC series, the passengers of Flight 828 go through a similar ordeal. They travel through a freak electrical storm that sends them five years into the future. Neither the show or the writers have explained exactly what happened to 828 but Season 13, Episode 4 of Ancient Aliens has seemingly done the job for them.

The theory posed in “Black Holes” is that planes disappearing and reappearing around the Bermuda Triangle all happen because a vortex allowed them to travel instantaneously through time and space. The evidence is unverifiable but the mechanics make sense if we look at how Flight 828 disappeared on Manifest.

The flight itself disappeared midway into flight then reappeared without notice five years later. None of the real people who’ve claimed to experience similar events have vanished for that period of time but the principle stands.

As far as Manifest is concerned, vortexes and black holes would explain how the flight traveled five years into the future. We’ll have to wait until Jeff Rake and the Manifest writing staff confirms what happened to Flight 828 but our guess is the answer has something to do with Black Holes.
