The sibling tough love is strong in this week’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy.

Grey’s Anatomy took a slight break from the heavy content from last week’s episode surrounding Jo and her birth father. This week, things are still quite dramatic because of a surprise visitor–Owen’s sister! Abigail Spencer came back as a guest star to play the role of Megan who is shocked to learn what Owen has been up to since she last saw him.

Although she’s there for work, Megan has no idea that Teddy is now working at Grey Sloan Memorial let alone that she is pregnant with Owen’s baby. The moment she finds out Teddy is around, she assumes that she and Owen are back together, but boy, was she in for a rude awakening.

But before we dive into the Owen storyline of this Grey’s Anatomy episode, we need to talk about Jo who is an emotional mess after finding out her mother was raped by her birth father. She doesn’t really know what to think of all of it, and she’s missing work and not speaking to Alex about any of it. Worried sick about her state of mind, Alex urges Link to check in on her.

Not only does Link learn nothing about what is going on, but he essentially watches Jo get drunk and break down. She goes from crying to laughing and it becomes very clear that she’s doing worse than any of us thought. Will she make it to the other side unscathed? Or will this destroy everything she’s worked so hard for?

To cheer Catherine up, Jackson brings his mother an interesting surgery to do–an abdominal wall, penis and scrotum transplant. This is the patient that Megan brought in and has bonded with because he too is a war veteran. While Meredith and Jackson work on getting the penis for the surgery, things hit a dead-end with the patient. He doesn’t have the emotional support one should during something like this and he refuses to let his girlfriend be there for him.

Owen is the only one that gets through to him, much to Megan’s disapproval. You see, she is livid with her brother in how he has handled his entire life. Being with Amelia, then traveling to Germany to be with Teddy, getting Teddy pregnant, coming back and getting with Amelia again and raising kids. And I have to say I agree, the guy has been through the wringer and needs to get some help, which Megan makes very clear (and I think she gets through to him!).

In other parts of Grey’s Anatomy, Meredith is nervous all day because DeLuca is doing surgery with Richard, and the last time they were around each other is when Richard caught them at Catherine’s party. I’m always on the fence about DeLuca but he proves himself in surgery and as a partner to Meredith–he even gets Richard’s approval!

Bailey is busy with students from a STEM program that have come to learn about leadership, and let’s just say that the students couldn’t have been more impressed. During the day, Bailey also finds out that Alex did something right during his time as interim Chief–creating budgets. But she and Richard have no intentions of telling him that he did something better than them.

While worried about Jo, Alex was busy treating a 10-year old autistic patient. He had to figure out a way to handle the patient as he did not like to be touched. Through a series of creative approaches, Karev finds out that the boy has a tumor and extremely rare blood. Things can never be easy on Grey’s Anatomy, can they?
