The Laser Beam

At the end of Stranger Things 2, Hopper and Eleven went back down into the Hawkins National Lab, walked right up to the gate, and sealed the portal into the Upside Down shut. Hopper was shooting a lot of demodogs while Eleven saved the town and Will.

Well, it appears, from the small glimpse in the trailer, that someone, probably the people still behind the Hawkins National Lab, want to re-open the gate, and they are using a giant laser beam to make that happen.

We see a short clip at the 2:11 mark of the laser beam being shot at what looks like the gate and the gate glowing orange, like the image above.

I’m really hoping that’s not the case. I don’t know if I can take the Mind Flayer coming back for Will and the gang in the new season. Only time will tell if this laser is actually being used for that purpose, but it’s possible.

If the gate is opened, Eleven is going to have to close it again, but I don’t know if the Mind Flayer will let her do it so easily this time.
