The full trailer for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 2 is here, and we have shared the trailer below. The new season hits Netflix on Friday, April 5.

There’s so much to love in this new trailer. Sabrina seems to be embracing her new power, and, to steal a few lines from one of the greatest musicals about witches, something has changed within her, something is not the same. She’s finished playing by the rules of someone else’s game.

In many ways, she’s become Greendale’s superhero. Sabrina saved the town from the 13 and the red horseman, and now, she’s using those powers to do good by killing demons, resurrecting witches, and more. It’s not sitting well with the Church of Night.

While we’ve seen a lot of the footage from the trailer in clips and teasers, we are also introduced to a new character in the trailer, and there are a few theories as to who that person is. And, I’ll get to that below. Keep reading if you want to find out who I think it is, but stop and watch the trailer first!

Clearly, Sabrina is not settling into her current role very well. While she wrote her name in the Book of the Beast and accepted the power that comes with such a choice, Sabrina is still very much walking the fine line between the two worlds. In a way, she’s probably more isolated than ever before. She’s unable to be accepted, most likely, in the world of witches because she’s half-mortal, and her friends, while they will support, probably don’t understand the half-witch side of her life very well.

On top of that, there’s a pretty clear love triangle forming with Sabrina, Harvey Kinkle and Nicholas Scratch. I still don’t entirely trust Nicky Scratch yet, but to be honest, I trust Harvey much either at the moment. He’s still dealing with the death of his brother, and his family has been witch hunters for forever. Could a betrayal be on the way in the future? I think so.

Netflix also shared the official synopsis for the new episodes:

"It’s a wicked world out there, and Sabrina is brewing up trouble. After signing her name in the Book of the Beast, Sabrina struggles to find the balance between her place in the mortal world and her new darker side. New challenges await Sabrina in Part 2, including having to choose between the familiar mortal Harvey Kinkle, and the sexy warlock Nicholas Scratch. She may have signed her name to the Dark Lord, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t willing to raise a little hell."

So, as mentioned above, the trailer reveals a man who appears to be the human form of Satan who has come to Greendale to help Sabrina. In the trailer, he summons Sabrina to sit with him at a table, and he says “You have loved the power I have given you.”

Sabrina replies, “What is it you want from me?”

As I said, this is set up to look as if the Dark Lord is paying Sabrina a visit, but I think it might be pointing us in a different direction than what’s really happening. Fans of the comics, like myself, are a little skeptical about all this talk about Sabrina’s father being dead. We know her mother is dead, and we’ve seen her a few times. Her father has yet to be seen… until now.

There are a few theories that Edward Spellman is actually “alive” and working with Satan to try to control and influence Sabrina. We don’t know why exactly, but this dude that has just been introduced looks a lot like Edward Spellman looked in the comics.

I don’t know if that’s the direction the series will go, but I think there’s pretty clear potential for that move to be made now. We’ll be sure to let you know more when we find out.
