11. Regina Sinclair — Insatiable

When the character first appeared: Regina was in the very first episode of the Netflix Original.

Why fans don’t like the character: I’ll be honest. It’s hard not to hate the majority of characters in Insatiable. The only one that is wholly likable is Nonnie. However, Regina is the one that has to top the list of most hated characters.

I did originally think about putting Dixie on, but Dixie is a product of her mother, Regina. That means Regina has to top the whole list of the characters from this series.

Throughout the first season, Regina did everything she could to make sure her daughter won beauty pageants. When Dixie didn’t, Regina would do everything to ruin the reputation of others, specifically her daughter’s pageant coach, Bob Armstrong. The series opened with her claiming Bob had molested Dixie, despite it being completely fabricated. And then we found out she was sleeping with a minor — Bob’s son of all people!

Regina never once feels like she’s done something wrong. She encourages her daughter to pretend to be disabled after an accident to gain sympathy. Throughout the series, she sabotages as much as she can and makes no apologies for anything that happens because of her.

There’s nothing to like about Regina. At least some of the other characters have something redeemable about them. There’s no hope for Regina and she’s one of the dullest characters to boot.
