2. Titans

If it was all about the action that made you enjoy The Umbrella Academy, then check out Titans. It’s filled with action from the moment the series gets started but be warned, it’s dark, as in super dark.

It’s an R-rated version of the classic Teen Titans series. Bad guys get sliced and diced, brutally killed and more. If you have a little one who watches Teen Titans, do not let them watch Titans. It will, in the wise words chosen by my wife, mentally scar the children.

The series follows Dick Grayson, a.k.a Robin, Rachel Roth, a.k.a Raven, Koriand’r, a.k.a Starfire, and Gar Logan, a.k.a Beast Boy, as they come of age and find out where they belong in the world. There is also the problem of the coming Hell on Earth so they need to deal with that as well.

Other than the action, there are plenty of great moments in Titans, and just like the characters in The Umbrella Academy, it is seeing each of them evolve and develop that makes it truly stand out. Starring Teagan Croft, Benton Thwaites, Anna Diop and Ryan Potter, Titans stands out on its own as a superhero series and is ideal to watch while waiting for The Umbrella Academy season 2.

For those of you in the US, you can currently stream the series via the DC Universe streaming platform. For those of you outside of the US, you are in luck, Titans is available as a Netflix Original to binge watch whenever you please.

Just remember, don’t let your kids watch it. It is an adult version of Teen Titans, it is 100 percent not suitable for the mini humans.
