Fear The Walking Dead Season 5: Karen David cast as series regular

The cast of Fear The Walking Dead is only getting bigger and season five has just added Karen David as a new series regular. Find out more about David’s role below.

While the most interesting addition to season five of Fear The Walking Dead has to be Austin Amelio, the cast will also be receiving a new character who’s set to play a series regular: Karen David. The Legacies actress will make her first appearance as “Grace” in the upcoming season and will apparently stick around for the foreseeable future.

Since David is listed as a series regular, her chances of surviving season five are much better than anyone else on FTWD. Though, we shouldn’t rule out Grace being maimed or injured somewhere along the way.

Injuries are fairly commonplace for Dead characters and the ones safe from the proverbial ax have a higher probability of suffering a serious injury—Grace is no exception to this principle.

What’s intriguing about David’s role is who she’ll be partnered up with. There are so many factions of survivors in the post-apocalypse that Grace (David) could be a member of just about anyone’s group. Of course, there are three possibilities that sound more believable than others.

For one, Grace could be a member of the faction Dwight (Austin Amelio) is rolling with. There’s no way to say with certainty but the former Walking Dead alum most likely picked up a crew on the way to Morgan’s neck of the woods—Grace could be among them.

On the other side, it’s possible Grace will be introduced as a lonely survivor recruited by Morgan during one of his deliveries. Morgan and his friends are on a mission to help people in need, perhaps recruiting others is part of that mission.

Lastly, Grace might wind up being a new comrade in Daniel’s group. It was confirmed late last year that Ruben Salazar would be returning in Season 5 despite taking a break from the series in Season 4.

The last time we saw Daniel, he was atop the dam that Nick Clark (Frank Dillane) blew up. Daniel appeared to go down in the explosion but his resurgence confirms that he did, in fact, survive the tumultuous situation.

What’ll be most interesting is where Daniel has been all this time. He’s had plenty of time to go on adventures of his own and could have some interesting stories to tell. Of course, his reaction to Victor (Colman Domingo) and Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) might not be as positive as we’d like.

For anyone who doesn’t recall, Victor and Daniel’s exchange towards the end of season three concluded with a semi-hostile feeling between them. Daniel has also suffered from periods of psychological instability so he could very well be deranged by this point. He also holds Victor somewhat responsible for what happened to Ofelia (Mercedes Mason).

Nevertheless, Grace’s choice of alliance will define where she stands for her duration on the show—that is unless Karen David is expected to leave for one of the future Walking Dead movies.
