Orange is the New Black wrapped production on the seventh and final season. OITNB season 7 is expected to be released on Netflix this summer.

The end of Orange is the New Black is here. The cast and crew wrapped production on the final season of the series, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter. Many in the cast shared videos and pictures from their last day on set.

We shared a few pictures that Jenji Kohan, the creator and showrunner of Orange is the New Black, posted on Instagram over the last day of production.

Orange is the New Black season 7 does not have a release date yet. We learned the show was ending this fall when Netflix shared a video with the cast announcing this would, indeed, be the final season. Netflix renewed the show for season 7 after the fourth season, so it was expected this would be the last one, but it’s still bittersweet.

This is, of course, a bittersweet moment for all those with the show. It has to be weird leaving a project that you’d worked on for most of the last decade. This show has always felt like a family, too, so I’m sure that makes it even more difficult to walk away.

It’s going to be hard for fans, too. Orange is the New Black was the first major Netflix original series, and it’s still one of the best and most popular shows the streaming service has to offer. It’s truly the end of an era for the streaming network as they move into even more TV shows and movies. It was all started with Orange is the New Black for the most part. Without that success, who knows where Netflix would be today?

Although the show’s quality has suffered a little bit in the most recent seasons, I’m still going to miss Orange is the New Black. This show was built and maintained with so much passion from the writers, cast and crew. It’s clear they all poured their hearts into these roles and created something truly special, and it’s hard to watch a show like that end.
