10. The Order

Season: 1

Created By: Dennis Heaton and Shelley Eriksen

Starring: Jake Manley, Sarah Grey, Matt Frewer, Sam Trammell, Max Martini

Release Date: Thursday, March 7

To cleanse our palates for April’s return of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Netflix offers up The Order, which the streamer touts as a mix between The Vampire Diaries and The Skulls. While it remains to be seen if there are any vampires running around this series, the trailer reveals a compelling supernatural thriller that’s a deserving successor to the series and movie mentioned and definitely a new series worth adding to your watch list this month.

The Order stars Jake Manley as college freshman Jack Morton, who seeks to avenge his mother’s death and pledges into a secret society. Upon joining The Order, Jack discovers a whole new world of magic and monsters, where he’s caught in the middle of a war between werewolves and the dark arts. As he dives deeper into the trenches of The Order, he learns a family secret.

It’s no wonder that the latest teen dramas popping up would follow in the footsteps of the darker teen fare that’s much more popular than the bare bones soaps of yesteryear. The Order falls in line with Sabrina, The Vampire Diaries, Riverdale, and the various teen series that mesh in genre fare. Netflix continues to set the trends rather than chasing them, and that’s a good thing for our watch lists. Be sure to watch the 10 magical first season episodes when they debut this March!
