Meredith breaks a record ahead of Grey’s Anatomy personal record of being the longest running medical drama–ever.

Grey’s Anatomy is accomplishing quite the feat for next week’s episode as it will break a very special record as we mentioned above. But speaking of records, Meredith broke an epic one for Grey-Sloan by doing the longest surgery ever in the hospital’s history, clocking in at about 27 hours. The entire staff was nestled up in the gallery watching Meredith work her magic throughout the entire episode, cheering her on or being incredibly jealous of her talent.

And while Meredith was busy breaking records, the entire hospital was in a chaotic mess due to overdosed patients coming in by the loads. Among them, unfortunately, was Betty/Brittany and her boyfriend. But Betty/Brittany had a very complicated situation because she went into a hypertensive crisis due to taking two kinds of drugs. Owen, Amelia, and her real parents all waited under intense stress as Teddy operated on her due to an aortic dissection.

Naturally, Betty/Brittany’s real parents being around was a tad bit awkward considering hours before they arrived at Owen’s house to pick up Leo for good. Betty/Brittany’s condition brought them into the hospital, and it was a situation both foster parents and real parents had to endure together. And while Betty/Brittany made it out of surgery alive, she was going to have face the devastating news that her boyfriend passed away while she was in her operation.

Jackson, during this intense episode of Grey’s Anatomy, was hoping to plan a weekend getaway with Maggie. What was this amazing plan, you ask? Camping! Maggie wasn’t exactly thrilled over the idea of roughing it but due to the hospital situation, she managed to get out of it. Plus, Jackson ended up donating all his camping supplies to a homeless man he was trying to find a shelter for but couldn’t. It all worked out in the end.
