How to Get Away with Murder season 5 episode 13 recap: “Where Are Your Parents?”

How to Get Away with Murder was back with episode 13 of season 5 and with only one episode left until the season finale, the show is becoming more dramatic than ever. Check out what happened.

How to Get Away with Murder aired episode 13 of its fifth season and with only two episodes left in the season, the show is ramping up to have an absolutely shocking season finale.

Last week’s episode left off with Asher realizing that Connor’s mother posted a photo of her and him on Instagram, but the picture also shows Nate and DA Miller in the background. With the FBI looking for any evidence connecting Miller with any of them, that photo could make everything fall apart.

This week was the Christmas episode and everyone was celebrating. The Keating 5 were having Connor’s mom at their place and Annalise had her mother, Ophelia, along with Emmett, Tegan, Nate, Bonnie, and Frank.

But just because it’s the holidays doesn’t mean that everyone is safe. When Annalise’s mother arrives, she gets a call from the FBI. They want to talk to her and they are willing to give her an immunity deal.

Christmas with the Family

With both Connor and Annalise’s mother in town for the holidays, everyone is worried. The Keating 5 is trying to find out how suspicious Connor’s mom is that they had her delete her Instagram picture and to figure out if she has any other pictures they need to delete. As for Annalise, she just wants to get through the holiday without any issues and with her mother as happy as possible.

But neither mom is as clueless as their children want to believe. Connor’s mom’s radar immediately goes up when the FBI turns up at the Christmas party and confiscate not only Connor and Oliver’s wedding pictures but also Oliver’s computer. Luckily, Connor is an expert liar and seems to convince her that he is doing the right thing and that sometimes the right thing isn’t always right in the eyes of the law.

Ophelia is not so easy to convince. She is Annalise’s mom after all. She knows something is going on but above all, just wants Annalise to be happy. What that means exactly is still up in the air. Would Annalise be happier just loving herself or does she need someone else in her life to make her happy?

FBI Investigation

Not only does the FBI call Annalise and show up at Connor’s door, they also have Tegan looking for anything out of the ordinary. But as it turns out, Tegan is much more on Annalise’s side than there’s. When she has a meeting with Agent Telesco, Tegan lies to her perfectly. She even ends up sleeping with Telesco to get her to trust her. But it’s all a ruse.

In the next scene, she is having a meeting with another FBI agent and tells him that she needs to have a new FBI handler because Telesco has been compromised. And since this is not the first time the agent has messes up, she gets taken off the case.

Cliffhanger

This episode also featured Laurel getting a creepy phone call, Bonnie worrying about being pregnant but the test coming out negative and Emmett Crawford finally trying to make a move on Annalise at her Christmas party.

Speaking of Emmett, he comes up in this week’s cliffhanger. Right after Tegan informs Annalise that she dealt with the FBI, Annalise gets a call and as it turns out, it is from Governor Birkhead. She has some news about who killed Nate’s father.

According to her, Emmett Crawford was the one who ordered Nate Sr.’s murder. Was this why he wanted to look into Annalise’ emails? Or is this why he came onto her this week? You’ll have to tune in next week to find out.
