Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman coming to Netflix in October

Martin Scorsese has multiple projects in the works right now, one of which is The Irishman. The movie is set to arrive on Netflix this October.

The Irishman is the upcoming gangster film from Martin Scorsese. His work in the genre is legendary. (Have you seen Goodfellas?) The movie also has a top-notch cast attached to it. It stars Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Jesse Plemons, Anna Paquin, Joe Pesci, Bobby Cannavale and Sebastian Maniscalco, among others.

The story revolves around a hitman who may or may not have involved in the death of Jimmy Hoffa. If you aren’t familiar with the true story, Hoffa disappeared in 1975 at the age of 62. He was the President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and became involved with organized crime.

Sebastian Maniscalo was a recent guest on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, where he discussed the movie. He revealed that it hits Netflix in October, but no exact day is given. You can watch a clip from the podcast below or listen to the full episode.

For me, it’s only been a recent curiosity of mine to dive into mob-related shows and movies. I watch Goodfellas much later than I should have and made my way through The Sopranos. I had seen other mob movies before, but none were quite like Goodfellas. It’ll be a testament to Scorsese’s talent if The Irishman ends up being one of those mob movies that people keep watching years later in the same way.
