The Punisher season 2, episode 5: “One-Eyed Jacks”

In the fourth episode of The Punisher, we learned a lot about each character and how they got to this point. We follow the journey of Billy’s mask; we learn more about Amy’s past. Everything we learned so far is about to start factoring into the new storylines and building up to the showdowns, as discussed in the episode 4 recap.

While not much happens in this episode, we continue to learn more about our main characters and their motivations. We see the torment Agent Madani feels with Billy out there. We also get to learn a little bit more about Pilgrim and Amy.

Billy

Billy’s spree continues in this episode. I don’t necessarily understand Billy’s disposition so far. Is he seeking revenge? Or, is he simply pushing the limits because he can? I don’t really know, but I’m leaning toward the latter.

Frank vs. the Russians

It seems like the whole Frank vs. the Russians storyline could be a shot in the arm for an otherwise stagnant episode. Obviously, we know Frank and Billy will meet at some point, and it’ll be cranked up to 11 when that happens. Of course, this is The Punisher, and Frank has to make a few people pay will he’s at it, unfortunately for the Russians.

We’ve yet to see Frank truly outsmarted yet, and this fight is no different. Frank realizes what’s actually going on and meets the Russians at the place they are holding Turk. He shows up and things down, and by “things,” I mean one of the best fight scenes in the history of this show.

Shoutout to Rob Morgan, who plays Turk in the Netflix-Marvel shows! We love any and all of his guest appearances.
