Every episode of Fox’s The Masked Singer has built up each climactic reveal with more and more suspense. Check out a list of all the singers unmasked so far in our breakdown below.

At just five episodes in, The Masked Singer is turning out to be one of Fox’s new smash hits. Hosted by Nick Cannon, the series is centered around a mystery singing competition where a panel of judges has to guess who’s behind the mask.

The contestants all up dress in unique costumes that completely cover their persons so there’s no telling who they are before the big reveal. Small clues are given to the audience and panelists during the show but nothing too telling.

As for the Judges, they craft their guesses while the major reveal is held until the episode’s conclusion. The current cast of Judges includes Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke, and Nicole Scherzinger. Joel McHale has guest-starred already and Kenan Thompson is set for an appearance in the coming weeks.

In regards to the competition itself, five of The Masked Singer’s contestants have been unmasked so far. There are still plenty more to go but the ones shown have completely shocked us, building additional anticipation for the following unmaskings.

Warning! Spoilers for The Masked Singer follow. You’ve been warned!

Keep in mind that while the series has become an immediate hit, not everyone is sold on it. On top of that, withholding the identity of each singer until the episode’s end can be somewhat problematic for viewers who don’t want to wait.

In lieu of that, we’ve compiled a list of every celebrity singer who’s been unmasked so far. The order is listed from least surprising to most surprising, though that aspect is up for debate.

5. The Hippo

When the Hippo came up to sing, every one of the panelists assumed that a recognizable NFL player was under the mask. Scherzinger, a panelist, pointed out the Hippo’s dance moves were quite similar to a well-known NFL player’s touchdown routine. The other Judges didn’t agree with Scherzinger’s choice but found some degree of believability in her rationale.

Once the reveal is shown to us, Scherzinger is proven half right. She was correct about a football player being under the mask, just not the person. It turns out that Antonio Brown, a wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was actually the culprit.

4. Pineapple

For the Pineapple, his identity was a bit easier to determine. Multiple panelists guessed that a lax celebrity was under the outrageous hat and his musical talents weren’t as on par as other contestants—giving them an additional clue.

Most of the early guesses were pointing to someone without traditional training as a singer—and they were right. The person underneath the Pineapple costume wasn’t actually a singer. He’s a famous performer but in no way a singer. The performer in question was Tommy Chong of the popular comedy duo, Cheech & Chong.

3. Poodle

Now, the Poodle was one even we didn’t see coming. Guesses from the Judges ranged from an Olympic gold medalist to Denise Richards—all of which seemed believable at the time. The singer performed “Time After Time” by Cyndi Lauper and she didn’t sound like any of the pop-culture icons that fans are familiar with. Of course, Ken Jeong should’ve seen the reveal coming.

The reason Jeong had a clue about Poodle’s identity is that he’s worked with her before on ABC’s Dr. Ken. The singer in question was famed comedian Margaret Cho—she played Ken’s sister on the ABC comedy series.

2. Deer

The Deer was another of The Masked Singer’s competitors who had us questioning our own resolve. While the Judges’ preliminary guesses were leaning in the correct direction, none of us expected the singer who performed “Get Your Shine On” to be a football legend.

Technically speaking, the performer in question isn’t a legend. He earned himself four Super Bowl rings but the title of legend only goes to a select few. However, most of us will agree that Terry Bradshaw has earned the right to be called one himself—especially now that he’s stepped up from footballer/broadcaster to singing sensation.

1. Unicorn

Unicorn, the most recent unmasking turned out to be the biggest surprise of them all. Some will argue that they saw her coming from a mile away but those claims are exaggerations, mainly because Tori Spelling came completely out of left field.

While most of us were expecting celebrities with formal musical training to be on the show, no one could’ve predicted that a wild-card like Tori Spelling would be thrown in. She’s a very talented actress with many credits under her name but none that have to do with actual singing.

Spelling herself admitted that she was labeled as tone-deaf at an early age, pushing her towards a career away from singing. There may be some truth to Spelling’s claims but she proved every naysayer wrong by putting on an amazing performance of “I Love It” by Icona Pop.
