It has been a long 18 weeks, but Peaky Blinders has officially wrapped up filming for season 5.

Fans of Peaky Blinders will be glad to know that things are getting one step closer to their favorite royal family of Small Heath being back on their TV screens. After 18 long weeks, with a break for Christmas and New Year, the cast and crew finally finished filming for season 5.

The show follows the Shelby family as they live in Small Heath, Birmingham after the first World War. They face many things, including various gangs and even the Mafia back in season 4 before Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) gets elected as Labour MP for Small Heath in the season finale.

Season 5 will follow Tommy as he gets stuck into life as an MP and meets an Enthusiastic MP (Sam Claffin) along the way; who ultimately could spell trouble for Tommy.

In order to celebrate season 5 wrapping, Peaky Blinders director Anthony Byrne announced the news on Twitter and Instagram. He also shared an image of himself and Cillian Murphy on their first day filming season 5.

It seems like Byrne really enjoys his time working and collaborating with Murphy on Peaky Blinders, and the show is far from over with yet, especially with talks of a film being made from the series.

Season 5 will be available for UK fans to watch on BBC One when it airs in late Spring 2019. For fans outside of the UK, it will be available on Netflix.

All 4 current seasons can be streamed on Netflix both in the US and UK. So, if you’ve yet to watch the infamous Shelby Family and their endeavors, you’ll be able to binge the show before the new season begins.

By order of the Peaky Blinders, we highly recommend the show as a must watch.
