Will The Kominsky Method be back for season 2 at Netflix? After winning to Golden Globes, Netflix will most definitely renew this series.

The Kominsky Method has not been renewed for season 2 yet. After it’s big night at the Golden Globes, that’s all about to change.

The Kominsky Method, created by Chuck Lorre and starring Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin, is now of only a few shows to win Golden Globes for Netflix, and it’s the only Netflix comedy to win the Golden Globe for Best TV Series – Comedy or Musical. It’s impossible for Netflix to cancel this series!

According to a report from Deadline, Netflix does not want to cancel this series anyway. In fact, Netflix wants even more Kominsky Method in season 2!

Deadline is reporting The Kominsky Method will be back for season 2, most likely, as Netflix and Warner Bros. are currently in discussions about the new season. Netflix wants to expand the second season to 13 episodes, according to the report. That’s five more than the 8-episode first season.

While I think it’d be great to make more episodes of the critically acclaimed series, I do think the shorter episode count does help a show by eliminating fluff and unnecessary storylines. Sure, it works for some shows, but a show like The Kominsky Method is the perfect show for an 8-episode season.

Douglas, the winner of the award for Best Actor in a TV Series – Comedy or Musical, seems to agree. According to Deadline, Douglas would like a shorter season, rather than a longer one.

We’ll keep monitoring this news and update fans accordingly. Episode count aside, it looks like The Kominsky Method season 2 is in the works at Netflix or will be shortly.

If the show is renewed, you can expect a new season to be released on the streaming service next fall or winter. Stay tuned!
