Filming for Peaky Blinders season 5 has officially begun, and we are all in for a big surprise.

By order of the Peaky Blinders, production on Peaky Blinders season 5 has started!

The BBC and Netflix original series has officially started filming season 5, and to mark the first day back on set, fans are being told they are in for a big surprise.

The last time we saw Tommy Shelby and the rest of the family they had just gotten rid of Luca Changretta who had come across from the US looking for revenge for the death of his father. To celebrate, Tommy went and got himself elected as the Birmingham Member of Parliment under the Labour party. It was an eventful season and surprising ending for everyone. What they might have in store for us this time with Peaky Blinders season 5 should be very exciting!

The official twitter account for the show shared the news that they had returned to set to begin filming, along with the message of a big surprise.

It’s a right hand, which could mean there is going to be a connection to the Red Right Hand in the new season. The Red Right Hand is connected to Northern Ireland, more specifically, The Red Hand of Ulster.

We haven’t had much of an Irish connection since the first and second season, but that could be all about to change come season 5 if I’m right. Of course, I could be way off basis and it will be something else entirely.

There were early rumors that Peaky Blinders season 5 would see gangsters from Glasgow come into the series. Something which hasn’t been confirmed or debunked. Fingers crossed we will get more clues as filming gets underway, giving us a better idea of what to expect.
