A list of 5 good movies to watch on Netflix this weekend, including The Dark Knight, Definitely, Maybe and many more.

It’s a brand new month (and year!) and that means that plenty of excellent new titles are heading to Netflix. There’s no shortage of entertainment so, whatever your taste in cinema, it looks like you’ll never even have to leave your couch this weekend.

Here’s a breakdown of what you should be watching, starting with a rom-com for date night.

5. Definitely, Maybe

Before he was Deadpool, Ryan Reynolds starred as a young dad in the adorable flick Definitely, Maybe. His character, Will, is in the middle of a divorce. When Will’s young daughter comes to him with questions, he agrees to tell her the story of how he met her mother via a series of interweaving tales from his past.

4. Hell Or High Water

This high-stakes neo-Western about two bank robbing brothers was a critical darling. Still, it didn’t make a ton of waves in theaters. If you missed Hell or High Water, come prepared for an action-packed exploration of the long-lasting effects of poverty on the American family.

3. The Dark Knight

You’ve probably seen this Batman flick, but it is always worth a rewatch! This film is not only the best installment in the Christopher Nolan trilogy, but it’s also near universally praised as the best superhero movie of all time. Catch it before it’s gone.

2. The Mummy

If you’re just looking for something goofy and fun, check out the classic adventure story The Mummy. 90s Brendan Fraser, plenty of monsters to go around and a few sequels ready to watch on Netflix directly afterward? Yes, please.

1. Watchmen

I can’t praise this movie enough! If you like highly stylized action films such as The Dark Knight, V for Vendetta or even Pulp Fiction, Watchmen will be a great companion piece. This dark and gritty take on superheroes is like nothing you’ve ever seen before.
