With June nearing its end, Netflix is ramping up its binge-watch weekend offerings in a major way, including new seasons of Luke Cage and The Toys That Made Us.

The most prominent of this weekend’s binge-watch releases is a new 13-episode season of one of its Marvel’s Defenders series. Given the popularity of the franchise and the favorable early reviews for the season, it will likely be the most watch program on Netflix this weekend.

However, it’s far from the only compelling new show available on the streaming platform. As of this weekend, one of the most compelling documentary series of the decade will be available for viewing. Additionally, Netflix has also recently added a pair of unconventional new shows that are definitely worth watching to its streaming library.

One is a legend-shattering program that examines some of the more improbable action set pieces in Hollywood history. The other deals with the secret history of the toys that defined all of our childhoods. Lastly, this week’s Netflix binge-watch recommendations are rounded out by an unfairly maligned and tragically short-lived series that deserves to find a bigger audience.
