5. Queer Eye season 2

In the early 2000s, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy became a cultural sensation by embracing gay stereotypes. In each episode, a quintet of openly gay men helped a straight and dowdy man get their life in order.

The process involved a fashion design makeover and an education basic social interaction. Running for five seasons, the show made the stale self-improvement show format feel new by injecting it with some camp swagger.

In 2018, the program returned as Queer Eye with a new group of experts and a revamped premise. Instead of just teaching straight guys to dress and groom themselves properly, the show helps people live better lives.

The New Fab Five helps everyday people find their confidence, break their worst habits, and get out of their own way so they can find the happiness they deserve. In addition to being aesthetically pleasing, the new Queer Eye is also incredibly life-affirming.

On June 15, Queer Eye’s second season will premiere and the group will help eight Midwesterners renovate their lives. This season subjects will include a slacker who wants to realize his potential, a cancer survivor who is planning a church homecoming, and a trans man who is working on establishing his new identity. If you’re looking to binge-watch and sob this weekend, Queer Eye is the show to watch.
