Jela is one of the sincerest characters in the Sense8 universe. Capheus’ best friend is vivacious, charming, loyal, and kind. The goodness Jela possesses allows him to make the best of every situation.

As Jela hustles for more customers, he’s met with a lot of resistance and hostility. Undeterred, Jela lets rejection roll off him like water off a duck’s back. Jela goes above and beyond by always being there for Capheus in times of danger and uncertainty.

One of our favorite moments is Jela’s comical negotiation for Shiro’s medicine, and that scene emphasizes the unwavering loyalty Capheus has from his best friend. In season 1, Jela tries to interject when Capheus does things he doesn’t agree with, and Capheus resists any attempts to change his mind. When Capheus looks to Jela for support, Jela responds that he’d follow Capheus anywhere. Jela does follow his friend in season 2 when Capheus runs for office.

We enjoy the Capheus/Jela friendship, and just like Felix, Dani, Hernando, and Amanita, Jela’s non-sensate perspective on life is very important.
