Stranger Things season 2 premieres on Netflix on October 27 and Netflix released a new teaser to make the announcement.

Netflix released a new teaser for Stranger Things season 2 and provided an updated release date that will be coming a few days earlier than anticipated. During the Stranger Things Super Bowl ad in February, fans were told season 2 was coming at Halloween. But it’s not coming on the actual date of Halloween on Oct. 31, Stranger Things season 2 is coming out on Netflix on Friday, Oct. 27.

This is fantastic news because the Friday release will mean fans get to watch the nine new episodes over the weekend without having to worry about school or work getting in the way. If it was coming out on Tuesday, it would have been binge-watched by the die-hard fans of the show, but school and work would have been a bigger hurdle to clear so this is just fantastic news for fans.

The new teaser that revealed the updated release date didn’t reveal a whole lot of information we can glean from. But it did feature that patented Stranger Things sound and took us back to Hawkins, Indiana where stranger things have happened.
