13. Gary Oldman

Richard Crosby – “The One With Monica and Chandler’s Wedding” – S7E23 and E24

Like many other celebrity Friends guest stars, Gary Oldman was known more for movies than television. Nevertheless, he appeared in the two-part finale of the seventh season, “The One with Monica and Chandler’s Wedding.”

Oldman took on the role of Richard Crosby, Joey’s co-star in a World War I movie. Initially, Joey is thrilled to be working with Crosby and hopes to learn a few acting techniques from him. He respects Crosby so much that he even follows his advice on over-enunciating his ‘p’ sounds, no matter how much it may annoy co-stars who don’t enjoy being spit on.

After finding out that he’s scheduled to appear on set on the same day of the Geller-Bing wedding, Joey is frustrated to find out that his famous co-star is too drunk to shoot the scene. Joey, who is supposed to perform the nuptials thanks to being an ordained minister via the Internet, tricks Crosby into believing that they’re done shooting so he can make it to the wedding on time.

Gary Oldman is known for his transformational acting talents, appearing in roles like the titular character in Dracula and as Sid Vicious in Sid and Nancy. Two of his most popular roles are that of Jim Gordon in Nolan’s Dark Knight Batman trilogy and Sirius Black in the Harry Potter movies.
