If you haven’t watched the show yet, perhaps Stephen King’s blessing of Netflix series Stranger Things will get you started on the eight-episode first season.

For the last week, we have promoted new Netflix Original series Stranger Things from The Duffer Brothers and starring Winona Ryder, Matthew Modine and David Harbour. The show could be the next big thing for the streaming service and it’s been received awfully well three days after the July 15 release.

We told you to watch, your friends and family are probably telling you that you have to watch the eight-episode first season so they can talk to you about all the cool stuff that happens.

If you’ve still resisted and haven’t started watching Stranger Things, perhaps you just needed an endorsement from the king of horror, Stephen King, to convince you to hit that play button.

Kings’ presence is felt in the series with nods to Stand By Me, IT and a direct reference to Cujo too and King complimented the show when he said it was like watching his greatest hits on the small screen.

King also gave it an A+ grade, saying it was pure fun and praised the performance by Winona Ryder who aced her first television role.

It is plenty popular, but thankfully, the Netflix servers haven’t crashed and subscribers haven’t lost out on any opportunity to watch Stranger Things.

If you’re a fan of King’s past work like the aforementioned Stand by Me and IT and a fan of Steven 80s classics like Poltergeist or Steven Spielberg’s E.T. and The Goonies, you’re going to love Stranger Things.

The show also adds a modern twist with influences from The X-Files and American Horror Story and I think you’re going to enjoy what The Duffer Brothers created. If you don’t take my word for it, take Stephen King’s.
