Unfortunately, The Night Agent season 2 isn't coming to Netflix until 2025

This just in: The highly anticipated second season of The Night Agent won't be hitting Netflix until 2025. This sad news comes from the Netflix CEO himself, Ted Sarandos.

On July 18, Netflix had its Q2 earnings call, and in the call, Sarandos mentioned some of the Netflix originals that are still left to return with new seasons by the end of the year. These include Squid Game season 2, Emily in Paris season 4, Selling Sunset season 8, The Lincoln Lawyer season 3, The Diplomat season 2, Virgin River season 6, Love is Blind season 7 and Monsters season 2.

We were surprised not to hear him list The Night Agent season 2, seeing as though the streaming giant confirmed a 2024 release early this year. However, we got our answer from Sarandos later in the call when he began listing Netflix shows returning with new seasons next year. Besides The Night Agent season 2, he listed Wednesday season 2 and Stranger Things season 5 as coming to Netflix in 2025.

This is really sad news because we were looking forward to seeing a brand new season of the action thriller series this year. The Night Agent was renewed for a second season back in March 2023, and we've been patiently waiting for it since then. Production on season 2 just recently wrapped on June 17, so the new episodes are now in post-production being edited to perfection.

Based on this production schedule, the second season could've been released in 2024. So, why it was pushed to next year is unclear. Although this change in release year saddens us, we're trying to remain positive. Who knows? Maybe the second season needed more time in post-production, and that's why we won't be seeing it until next year. Whatever the reason may be, we're just happy that we're getting a second season.
