We still don't know when Wednesday season 2 will arrive on Netflix, but it seems the wait is going to be worth it -- or at least that's what lead Jenna Ortega has promised fans!

During an appearance at the 75th Annual Primetime Emmys, Ortega hit the Red Carpet alongside her fellow nominees and it didn't take long for the conversation to shift to season 2 of Wednesday. While speaking with E! Red Carpet correspondent Laverne Cox, Ortega wasn't able to give away too much but she did reveal season 2 will be even bigger than the show's first season.

Jenna Ortega says Wednesday season 2 episodes will be movie quality

“There’s really, really good one-liners, and I think everything’s bigger, it’s a lot more action-packed. Each episode will probably feel a little bit more like a movie, which is nice," Ortega promised when discussing the upcoming second season of Netflix's breakout hit.

The promise of episodes being bigger than ever and feeling like a movie is definitely interesting, it's very much giving Stranger Things -- though I'm not sure how to feel about that. On one hand, it makes sense that Netflix would want to make the show even bigger following its breakout success and Wednesday more than deserves a larger budget and all the love Netflix will give it. However, we don't need the show to be so over the top that it takes years to make new seasons which has been a running problem with Stranger Things.

It'll also be interesting to see if the bigger scale of the episodes results in longer episodes. Most season 1 episodes hovered around the 50-minute mark which is already on the longer side of things for a comedy. However, that could be by design.

Ortega doubled down on the fact that the show will be leading more into horror elements teasing, “We’re definitely leaning into a little bit more horror but it’s really, really exciting because all throughout the show, while Wednesday does need a little bit of an arc, she never really changes and that’s the wonderful thing about her."

This approach could allow the show to ease into more of a dramedy than a horror comedy, incorporating darker tones and storylines as part of the efforts to make the show bigger next season.

It's also exciting to hear Ortega clearly feels Wednesday needs more of an arc in the season as we'd love to see the show remain true to the incredible character we fell in love with, while still giving her a more prominent story arc over the season. Speaking of which, Ortega assured fans we can expect plenty of new one-liners in the new season, promising audiences "there’s really, really good one-liners."

Although we'd have loved for Ortega to spill about when season 2 might be coming, we have to say she did quite a job of making us even more excited about the next season which should begin filming this April!
