Emily in Paris season 4 might not arrive until this summer, but it seems Netflix might already be gearing up for a fifth season! That’s right, all signs seem to be pointing toward Emily in Paris season 5 happening at Netflix and our first confirmation about the show’s renewal happened to come in the most unexpected of places.

During the 30th Annual Gala Cannes fundraising event hosted on May 23, guests in attendance had the opportunity to bid on a number of amazing items including a walk-on role on Netflix’s Emmy-nominated comedy’s fifth season!

“One of you is going to leave here tonight with a walk-on role in Season 5 of the hit TV show Emily in Paris,” presenter Paris Jackson told the guests as she introduced the prize up for auction. The only thing is that Emily in Paris season 5 hasn’t been officially announced by Netflix just yet, but clearly, if a walk-on role is being auctioned off at charity, another season must be in the works!

Watch Winnie Harlow and Paris Jackson seemingly confirm Emily in Paris season 5 at the Amfar Gala Cannes event below:

Interestingly, Amfar has since updated the item description of the audition item on its site noting that,  “As part of the walk-on role, the winning bidder will have the opportunity to spend a day on set in Paris during filming, contingent upon season 5 pickup. To tide you over until then, the winning bidder and a guest are invited to attend the Los Angeles première of Emily In Paris Season 4 this August.”

Perhaps the brand caught some backlash from Netflix for leaking the renewal news? We wouldn’t be shocked if that was the case.

Is Emily in Paris season 5 happening?

While Netflix has not confirmed a fifth season renewal, it seems Emily in Paris season 5 is happening! While Amfar has tried walking back its auction item, the fact that the charity auctioned off a walk-on role for season 5 seems to suggest Netflix is planning another season as we can’t imagine series creator Darren Star would donate the item for a charity auction if he wasn’t certain another season was in the works.

And honestly, another season of Emily in Paris should totally be in the cards!

We don’t know how many more seasons the veteran comedy might have in its tank, but Netflix has not been promoting season 4 as the final season. Given its longstanding track record of success at Netflix, we can’t imagine Emily in Paris won’t get a final season when the time comes to end the show. Considering season 4 is not being promoted as the last season, it seems more than safe to assume at least one more season is coming.

Should Netflix host another Tudum event this summer, it’s possible it could announce the Emily in Paris renewal news at that time or perhaps closer to the show’s premiere in either August when season 4 part 1 arrives or September when season 4 part 2 drops.
