11. The Mind of a Chef
Anthony Bourdain is the producer and narrator of the series that gives us an inside look at what is going on inside the brain of the chef.
Chef David Chang stars in the series that begins in Japan where he learns all about the history of the noodle. Next, David travels to San Sebastian to discuss pork bushi and prepares a pork belly. From there David talks about his childhood and his favorite dishes to eat during the summer and how golf impacted his life growing up in Japan.
Two of my favorite episodes in Season 2 is ‘Gluttony” where we see a whiskey tasting and a foie gras sandwich and ‘Smoke” where David profiles the different types of barbecue in North Carolina, Texas and Kansas City and a smoky bacon from Tennessee.
