The latest from Marvel TV brings us the story of Jessica Jones who starts a private investigation agency after her superhero career comes to a halt. She’s one of the most fascinating characters from the Marvel Universe in part because she’s a broken person with superhero abilities but can’t overcome her tragic past.

It’s a past that includes her surviving a car accident that killed her family and put her in a coma. She was adopted by the Jones family after waking up, she was under the mind control powers of Kilgrave, aka The Purple Man who subjected her to some seriously dark and heinous things.

This is definitely a character and a series for an adult crowd who loves the comics because of storylines like sexual assault and posttraumatic stress disorder. You don’t have to be well versed in the comics to like this show because I never read one of the comics, but I love the series, and I can’t wait to watch through it again.
