Daniel Holden (Young) tries to put his life back together after serving 19 years on death row in Georgia for a rape and murder he didn’t commit. After DNA evidence calls into question his conviction, Holden is released and now much adapt to the outside world that has been a foreign subject to him for half his life.
He’s not the only one who is seeking a sense of normalcy after losing his youth and his innocence behind bars since he was convicted at 18. The victim’s family, Holden’s family and the community the crime took place are all trying to put the pieces back together to find a peace, a purpose, an understanding of what happened.
