18. Michael Che Matters

The former Daily Show correspondent and Saturday Night Live Weekend Update co-anchor crushes it in his first Netflix stand-up special. I love his laid-back style and how unafraid he is to confront some controversial topics and get his message across to audiences.

In Michael Che Matters, which was released in November, he performs in front of the crowd at Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse in Brooklyn, New York. and talks about the ongoing struggle and strained relationship with police and African-American’s. Che even jokes about his brother who he only sees at Thanksgiving that he needs to be on guard when he’s reaching across the table for the mashed potatoes.

He doesn’t stop there as he jokes about the state of the economy and how desperate we are that marijuana is becoming legal across the country, which is a sign of someone on their last dollar. Donald Trump, white girls, Jesus, Black Lives Matter are just a few of the talking points Che delivers in one of the newest specials on Netflix.
