32. Louis C.K.: Hilarious
Anoher special from Louis C.K. to appear on this list is his Hilarious set, which was indeed hilarious. Filmed in 2010 and the first stand-up special to air at the Sundance Film Festival. Checking in at a lengthy 83 minutes, this is one of the longest special you’ll ever see and every second is worth it.
C.K. opens about a bit where he talks about we’re all mostly dead and there are more dead people than living people, which is awfully caustic, but it’s true and makes you think and laugh. Speaking of dark themes, he transitions into how divorce is actually a good thing. But being single at 41 isn’t. He compares it to having 5 million dollars in Russian currency and jokes about his appearance that he didn’t maintain.
Single C.K. looks at women differently now. He jokes about the guys who are going out to get laid and how dangerous they can be when they don’t get laid.
One of my favorite moments from the special is when he talks about white people problems which are just minor inconveniences to be upset about.
