Written by: Matthew Vaughn and Jane Goldman

This all-star film was adapted from the Neil Gaiman book of the same name, so you already know it’s going to be amazing, on its face. And when you add in the fact that it was directed by acclaimed director Matthew Vaughn and featured a who’s who of superstar actors and actresses in their lineup, and has Sir Ian McKellan narrating the film, you know you’re in for a special treat. But, like most Hollywood stories, this film didn’t have a positive start in the beginning – in fact, it stayed in development hell for almost 15 years before it was finally made into a film.

Miramax held the original film options to the film, and when their rights expired, Gaiman got them back and gave them, subsequently, to Vaughn, who began developing this film after he turned down X-Men: The Last Stand. The film was, and remains, a blockbuster, which has made more than $135 million worldwide to date. In addition, the film has also received critical acclaim and several awards, including a Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation.
