Our fear of AI is clearly going to permeate throughout many sci-fi movies now and for years to come, so we may as well get used to it now. In this offering – the first film on this list to be from the Philippines – when a news reporter develops a relationship with a scientist who created the first “perfect” AI, the “perfect” AI stops being so perfect and starts becoming the psycho ex-girlfriend from Hell. With its obvious comparisons to Ex Machina – which does a much better job of exploring how “perfect” AI can go haywire, except it’s not available on Netflix, so this will have to do – this is a pretty solid, and scary, sci-fi offering.
