Stanley Kubrick directed the movie based on the book written by Stephen King and it’s such a classic it’s still referenced in current TV shows and movies.

Jack Nicholson played the iconic role of Jack Torrance, a writer who stays at a hotel with his family during its offseason and is haunted by an evil and spiritual that causes him to go crazy and terrorize his wife and son.

Shelley Duvall plays Jack’s wife and she’s phenomenal too as the terrified mother of a psychic little boy who uses his “shining” to alert people outside the hotel of the horrors taking place inside the walls of the hotel, such as a tidal wave of blood and two ominous twins who keep reappearing.
