Every person you talk to loves Gladiator. Go ahead, find the person closest to you, ask them if they like the movie Gladiator, and watch their faces light up. It’s science; Gladiator is a great movie with a great hero, played by Russell Crowe, and fantastic cinematography due in large part to Ridley Scott’s directing. It works as a top Netflix choice because it manages to really flesh out both its hero and villain, played by Phoenix, in a very classic, old cinema type fashion. Oh, and Russell Crowe fights a tiger. Enough said.
