The Green Prince

Release Year: 2014

Directed by Nadav Schirman

The Green Prince is a Bio-Doc based on Son of Hamas: A Gripping Account of Terror, Betrayal, Political Intrigue, and Unthinkable Choice, which is the autobiography of Mosab Hassan Yousef, who is the son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, the leader of Palestine’s Hamas.

For ten years, Mosab Hassan Yousef spied on his father and his father’s organization for Israel.

The film consists of interviews with Mosab Hassan Yousef and some of those closest to him. It gives some insight on why a son would “betray” his father. Archival footage shows many of the situations and events touched upon in the interviews.

The Green Prince won several major awards, including the Audience Award in World Cinema at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival and the Audience Award at the Moscow Film Festival.
