Can you believe that we’re already almost to October? We only have two weekends in September left! This weekend, the roster of Netflix movies includes the Spy Kids reboot, a Nollywood thriller, and a suspenseful new Bollywood movie. Which Netflix movies will you be checking out?

As always, with so many options available to subscribers, it’s easy to be overcome with choice paralysis. Which movies are worth your time and which ones are better off skipped (at least for now)? We can help you decide!

Below you’ll find a curated list of five Netflix movies available to viewers this weekend and our recommendations on which ones you should watch, and which ones you can skip.

Best Netflix movies to watch this weekend, September 22

Spy Kids: Armageddon

WATCH! – If you’re looking for a movie you can watch with the entire family then Spy Kids: Armageddon is a great choice for family movie night. Robert Rodriguez is back with a new entry into the Spy Kids franchise and this one looks to be one of the best reviewed in years. It helps that it’s more of a remake of the original movie that started it all, meaning it doesn’t reinvent the wheel or offer anything new to long-time watchers, but it should definitely appeal to your kids!

The Black Book

SKIP! – There’s nothing inherently wrong with The Black Book, it’s just a fairly rote revenge thriller that might not interest those who have seen their fair share of these action movies. That said, lead actor Richard Mofe-Damijo delivers a riveting a performance as a man struggling with the death of his son and his desire to get revenge on his killers.

Suspect X

WATCH! – This new Bollywood crime thriller is a great watch for this weekend. Even though it has a slightly longer runtime of over 2 hours, it’s fast-paced and goes by quite fast. Kareena Kapoor is excellent in the lead role as a woman desperate to do whatever it takes to escape from her abusive husband.

Skylines

SKIP! – With Hulu releasing its acclaimed alien movie No One Will Save You starring Kaitlyn Dever, Netflix subscribers might be looking for something in a similar vein they can watch.

Even though the 2020 sci-fi film Skylines was recently added to the catalog, you’re better off skipping this one. Skylines is serviceable enough, but it’s too long and the poor budget is reflected in everything from the acting to the script.

The Wolf of Wall Street

WATCH! – Before she was a household name, Margot Robbie was the iconic bombshell Naomia Lapaglia in Martin Scorcese’s The Wolf of Wall Street. The chaotic biographical dark comedy film showcases one of Leonardo DiCaprio’s finest performances as Wall Street stockbroker Jordan Belfort and really helps show off Robbie’s acting chops as well.

If you never got around to watching this movie (or don’t mind setting aside three hours to revisit it), then now is the perfect time to watch as it is currently available on Netflix.
